Cabinet announces some austerity measures:

At its March 9 session, the cabinet banned to buy uniforms, cars (except ambulances, fire engines), furniture, cell phones, notebooks, consumer equipment and carry out repairs, Interfax-Ukrayina reports May 9.

There will be only one car for executive agencies, no charter flights, and personnel expansion of budget-supported organizations.
The cabinet restricted foreign trips, bonuses and salaries for officials.
The ban was imposed on new state programs, conventions, fairs, celebrations of historical events, save for the 200 anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, Victory Day, Constitution Day, Independence Day and Holodomor. 
The State Property Fund is to prepare an inventory of state residences, dachas, rest homes and make proposals how to use them in future, to sell or convert into social infrastructure.
The number of planes for top government officials is to be cut.
Other austerity measures include the fight against money laundering, counterfeit alcohol and repatriation of illegally earned money.
